One for Alex Calder, who joined our work experience programme, to answer:
"Fresh out of a history masters course, and still trying to decide how to begin to do something that might one day resemble a career, I came across CHA’s work experience placement. Two things stood out: it was paid (thrillingly) and it offered the chance to write and to be a bit creative. I applied, was accepted, and three months later have been offered a permanent position.
"In making my decision to stay here, I thought practically and strategically, as any good historian is trained to. However, I found that increasingly my decision came down to the people with whom I work: the lovely atmosphere and camaraderie.
"You are welcomed from the very first. Work is dynamic and often manic, and you are supported and encouraged in every way.
"As a workplace communications consultancy, part of the job is to help organisations solve their internal communications problems – such experience means that as an employer CHA is an open, happy, and rewarding place to work.
"My experience has been consistently positive and I am greatly looking forward to becoming much more involved as I move from the work experience programme to the role of junior account exec."
